Just finished these two wall brands at Midland Revival
This is the new chapter for the team that brought you The Inked Pig. Their grand opening is this Saturday and I want to encourage you to go check it out. As I've been working on these the last couple days, I've been able to eavesdrop on the servers and bartenders training and I can tell you it's going to be epic. The place is gorgeous, the environment is cool and away from the square, the menu is incredible.
On a personal note, these people have been so good to me. They sponsored me for Dancing for a Cause to help me raise money when I competed a few years ago. My second huge mural of the summer is finally done.
Here you go, Flowery Branch!
This is two sides of the underpass, two 250 foot concrete walls. A total of 4988 square feet, 47 flowers, and 910 trees.
Some things about this one you might find interesting:
I've been doing this for decades now, and as far as weather, this has been the worst summer I can remember. The total number of dangerously high temp days were far more than I've ever had. The humidity was impossible for most days, even starting in May. The storms were brutal.
Aside from that, this mural challenged me in many ways. Not the design, but the environment was unlike any I've ever worked in before. Listen, I'm pretty tough, but the heat got trapped under the bridges and the fumes were constant, but the biggest issue with this one was the noise. I don't consider myself very sound sensitive. But even with ear protection and music, the constant reving engines, sirens, honking, screeching, was amplified many fold by all the concrete. It messed with my brain. It made me anxious and on edge. There were times I had to close up the paint and leave immediately, I couldn't take it anymore. I felt myself going mad. It was fascinating. I have a brand new respect for sound sensitive neurodivergence, people with tinnitus, and servicepeople who have ever been tortured by sound. I get it now.
I'm now going back to the Islands to Highlands tunnel. I'm excited to get back to finish that one in the next couple weeks. Also a couple signs for new restaurants, and then my own building!

Beautiful work! And thank you for the field report on the job site’s environmental factors. I’ve been working an indoor location without natural light and during the hours I am allowed to work, I can’t come in and out freely without needing to coordinate my movements with someone offsite. It has surprised me how much these factors affect my mindset and artistry.

So many desert 🐪 🌵🏌🏽🧗♂️⛰️🌅 themed ideas there. YOU ma’am, have brightened our dreary, accident proned part of 985, and I thank you immensely for your hard work .
