What a wonderful story! I remember having to drive all the way down Cleveland Hwy to Lakeland to cut through to get to Clark’s Bridge. My mom lived 3 houses down from the rowing venue, and it made for a long ride home.

I remember that! We were rerouted to Lakeland since we couldn't cross the bridge, and watched the races from our neighbor's dock at the end of the road, at about the midway point. We must have lived super close to each other!
